Hi,

My mum and i brought a gorgeous Minature Shetland Colt about a month ago. He has lovely floaty paces and would do very well at showing. I am hoping to show him but am slightly stuck. As i know at some shows colts/stallions must wear a bit.

So can i show him in a bridle without bit or do i have to show him in bridle with bit?

Thanks In Advance :) x

I took my 13 month standard shetland colt out to his first show last weekend. I showed him in a shires filly slip as i couldn't find anything to fit him. Some schedules i have looked at do state that stallions/colts must be bitted though, but unless you see it written down a slip or headcollar will do if he is a yearling. My boy will wear a bit next year anyway as he is getting a bit full on already and i have no plans to geld him at the moment.
