I have never shown in hand before.

I have a 3year old welsh section A that I would like to show in hand over the summer.

I would like to know what is correct for the pony and what is correct for me to wear?

P.s. I would like to wear trousers please ;)

7.4 In-Hand Tack
7.4.1 Youngstock may be shown in a white webbing or rope show halter, leather head collar or show bridle.

7.4.2 Mares/Geldings four years old or over may be shown in a white webbing or rope show halter, leather head collar, show bridle or riding bridle.

7.4.3 For Colts/Stallions the use of stallion Show Tack is optional.
this is from the welsh pony and cob society rules , hope this helps !

As long as you look smart, i dont think there are actual rules on what you wear, usually seems to be dark jean, or trousers, any colour, with a shirt or blouse, tie optional, never seen any one in jods or anything though ! not with the welsh ponies anyway

For the human - Trousers that are the opposite of your ponies legs - white/light legs - dark blue or botton green trousers - never black. Dark leg - light trousers - beige/stone - never white. Smart, sensible boots.

Shirts -
If wearing a shirt then a tie is necessary - sorry everyone that says no tie - it is polite and respectful to the judge to wear one. And either a wasitcoat or a tweed hacking jacket.
If wearing a blouse then wear a waistcoat, not a jacket.

Hair must be tied back neatly and securely preferably in a bun. Hats - either a beagler or a trilby or none at all.

Gloves - preferably brown. Again, never black.
