I was planning on taking my youngster out to a local show last Sunday, first one this season as every other we had planned to attend was cancelled/rained off at the last minute. So much for "summer".
Anyway, the boy was in a lovely mood, all relaxed and chilled whilst we gave him a good scrub and spruce up. He looked fantastic, if I do say so myself!
We were running a bit late, so we hitched up the trailer and mum loaded the boy for me while I started getting changed. She pulled off the hardstanding and I heard a small 'pop' and hissing. Yup. Puncture. Brilliant.
Now 10 minutes behind schedule, and wrestling with the spare wheel. OH leaves his golf round early to come to our rescue, but spare wheel is stuck to the side of the trailer as one of the nuts holding it on has rusted
OH toddles off to find a hammer to whack the crap out of it to free spare wheel. Spare wheel is now liberated, but his car jack will not lift the trailer up high enough to change the wheel.
Now running half an hour late, we give it up as a bad job, and decide to leave it rather than rush about and get stressed, which would only get the Boy all worked up. Not ideal.
So we stayed at home, and played about trotting him up, practicing standing still (he struggles with this. he must be busy aaall the time, and thinks standing still is for losers).
Obviously gutted that we didnt even make it off the yard, but better that than get halfway there, have a flat tyre and realise the spare is stuck on the side of the trailer. (Silver lining is that OH has brought the trailer home and is giving it a "damn good servicing"
ooh err! I might even be able to convince him to paint it; I'm clever like that
)
So, for good measure, here is a pic of the Boy, all polished and preened. Or "all dressed up with nowhere to go". Never mind, eh?
and one of his handsome face
(apologies if photo's are huge!)
