I have a little 12.2 hh 17yo New Forest mare who I would like to show inhand but I'm not sure what class(es) she would be allowed to enter. (It probably doesn't help that I've never shown before so am completely ignorant to how it works!)
Her parentage isn't known and she has some little flecks of white along her sides so wouldn't be eligible to be registered in the NF studbook. Can anyone help?
Pic 1 is of her after a bath last summer. She's not this fat now!!
pic 2 is her a little while ago still in winter woolies.
pic 3 of her grazing taken last night (she really needs a bath)

Pics don't show. Lots of local shows will have either unregistered m&m class, or just put ref and unreg in the same class

Its hard without being able to see the pics but basically you have three choices:

Assuming pony is typey and looks like a NF then choose shows where the mountain and moorland classes are open to non registered ponies. At 12.2 though the pony would really need to scream NF as that's definitely on the small side

Depending on the ponys type you could trim and plait and show as a hunter pony but many local shows dont tend to have this class so do check out the local ones before committing to that look and with the pony being seventeen you'd have to question whether it would be worth it

Your last option would be to stick to veteran, best condition, pretty mare, best mane and tail classes etc.. These are all good experience for both you and pony and take the pressure off the reg/unreg situation
