Showing at local riding club level

For riden showing at local shows which colour jacket to wear? Is a hacking jacket acceptable? Also does colour of shirt/tie matter? Thanks for all help.

I would say wear a tweed jacket and tie - doesn't matter what colour. Our last local show where I did WH I wore a tweed with gold tie, to match the lining of the jacket. Sounds hideous but looked ok - was nore mustard than gold!

At local level shows don't think it matters too much. I've shown in a navy jacket before I had (or could afford) a tweed.

Jacket depends on what you are showing...the general rule is wear navy for hacks and show ponies and tweed for everything else.

At local shows colour of jacket/tie/shirt/doesn't really matter unless you're doing Best Turned Out. It's how the horse performs that is important. Much better to have a forward going well schooled & behaved horse than the 'in' showing gear!
