As title really, I'm clueless!
I'd like to do local Part Bred Arab and Welsh classes over summer as these seem to be most popular, just for fun really and something different. Horse is Welsh D (eligible to be registered) / Arab (parents unregistered)/ Warmblood; bay with 4 nearly even white socks with white feet and blaze. Mane is pulled and plaited and tail pulled and trimmed, no feather.
Bridle: for Cob class I presume flat noseband and browband? Is there a specific width? Same for Arab or velvet browband?
He is normally ridden in loose ring snaffle, would judge prefer this or pelham with two reins (horse never had a double) for both?
No numnah under saddle (leather GP), plain girth and stirrups?
Rider: I know for Cob is beige/yellow jods, long boots, brown gloves, tweed jacket, shirt and tie (I have yellow shirt and burgundy tie).
Is this the same for arab?

If it local/riding club shows you are doing you can use the same tack and clothing for both, i think the browband would be personal preference i think either would look fine in a part bred class, only use a Pelham if your horse is used to one, have you ridden him in a Pelham before? and are you used to riding with 2 reins?

With part bred classes you always turn out to type so if your horse is a cob you turn out like a cob, more of a riding horse then turn out to that etc. No need for velvet browbands if it's not to type for one.

Why the cob class? He really doesn't sound like a cob type.
Also for cob classes they should be hogged not plaited.

Partbred classes you turn out to type (except for HOYS classes) so same as for the cob class if he is a cob type

I meant Welsh Cob sorry :)

Yes he has and Yes I am :) I'd obviously ride him in it a good while before to get back into the swing of it

Welsh Cobs don't belong in the cob class, they belong in the M&M class but only the purebreds. Cob is a type not a breed.

Just because he is part bred welsh does not make him a cob, normaly Welsh cob x warmbloods or arabs are too fine for the cob class and make far better hunter/ hunter ponies or riding horse types.
Please put a picture up as it is highly unlikely he is suitable for the cob class (though I may be wrong)

This was my Welsh cob x warmblood and he was a show hunter pony or small riding horse type (depending which rider was put on him)

I assume OP meant cob as in turn out more like a Welsh cob (plainer tack) or turn out more like an Arab (velvet browband).

OP it will depend on your horses build and head, if he is very refined then a velvet browband would be appropriate otherwise just a plain one will be ok. Snaffle will be completely fine (I showed all over in a snaffle or a wilkie as a pelham always looked too much on my horses face). You can have a discreet saddle pad underneath the saddle but if you cannot get one that is a good fit for your saddle then none is better.

The only time there will be much difference is if he is very refined type and you turn him out more like a Hack in which case it would be a navy jacket for you, but I think you will be safer in tweed at local level :).

This is my PBA (no Welsh in her) I turned out more like a hack (she does have a show pelham on here)

I really love your little mare she is so pretty and my favourite colour:)

that's good I tend to stick the Pelham on a few times a week in show season it just gets them used to it again, I would try and put a picture on here of your horse then we can get a better idea of how to turn him out correctly.

As title, not pure cob class but Part Bred Welsh Cob class, they're very popular here :)

Part bred welsh classes are very popular everywhere (though normaly they are for partbreds of any welsh section not just C&D's). You turnout to type so if it is a hunter pony then you turn it out as a hunter pony, if its a riding horse then you turnout as such.
Partbred arab classes are the same.
Just be careful as some shows, even local ones will want proof of registration for this class and whilst yours may be eligable for registration if they are not registered you cannot enter those that do want it.
