Having won at local level this season and had loads of positive comments from judges, me and Marbles are going to try a bit higher level. He is a traditional piebald cob with wh brown saddle and sabre hunter bridle.
Now for me- I have canary jods, canary shirt, brown tweed jacket with navy collar. What syle and colour long boots? What style and colour riding hat? stock or tie and what colour?
Need to put on list to post to Santa in lapland before xmas eve so any help appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

tie!
Riding hat shout be navy with leather flesh coloured straps, or a beagler (if you are safee enough on your horse)
Long leather boots should be black. Hope this helps!

What level you going to? as if there is an evening section to the show then you will need black jacket and a top hat!

also you need a brown show cane and brown gloves!

thankyou. Got brown cane and brown leather gloves. Just going in daytime to equestrian life and trailblazers to start with.
Do the long boots need to be plain or lace front or what? Only got mountain horse high riders at min, but like I say Santa will be comin soon !!

either, not important, I personally think that plain ones look nicer (thats what I have!

Mine are treadstone, they were not overly expensive and look really smart!

If you decide to do CHAPS affiliated classes you will need a strapped hat - The Charles Owen H2000 is the most popular, or the Gatehouse Hickstead.
Regent Oakley/Grafton boots are traditional, and reasonably priced.
Definitely a tie, NOT a stock! And, hair in a proper bun.
NB. In Evening Performances ladies wear Navy and not black.

I show at affiliated and county level with my traditional. You need to look something like this:

He is in a pelham here, but I am now using a double as he seems to be happier in the double than he was in the pelham.

I use a WH show saddle as I hope to do some trad working classes next season.

As he is a dark bay, I wear brown tweed and brown hat with mustard and gold tie on a cream shirt with cream/beige jods (canary jods are a killer if you don't have thin thighs

)

Long black boots, dark brown gloves and brown show cane to finish.

On a piebald, dark green with navy hat and red based tie on yellow shirt with cream or light canary jods is good.

Your cob should not be trimmed - you can trim the jaw but not the whiskers or tash, ears can be tidied on the outside if hair is very long. Mane, forelock and tail should be long and flowing. Feather should be left natural. Discrete tidying is allowed but they should not be pulled or plaited.

Hope that helps and good luck.
