Showing ...... coloureds

I have recently been told by my mum showing judge friend that Scooby should do some coloured showing ........

working hunter, hunter pony, comp pony and dressage?!? thought it might be a good idea as he wont be able to event over the summer summer months

could anyone tell me what these involve etc.... (only ever done local showing....... big showing shows BIT SCAREY hee hee..... just used to getting him looking passable and throwning on tack for eventing

)

Ok, as you prop already know, need to be plaited and pulled. Tack needs to be plain and workman like, and idealy should be in a double/pelham bridle. No coloured browbands. You should wear tweed, with a coloured tie, and velvet hat. Same as unter turnout really! Tack should ideally be brown.... Hppe that helps slightly....

Theres also a quick run down of what to wear etc on www.showingtips.co.uk

It's not that scary really, the format of the classes is just the same as local showing, except people know what they're doing, so usually don't tend to use your horse as a stopping aid etc!
