showing coloureds

Tried to post this but seems to have gone talkies.

But.....
Do you have to canter in a ridden coloured cob class? We haven't cracked canter yet but there is a local show at the end of the month that id like to give a go! Is this acceptable or will it be frowned upon?

You will most likely be expected to Walk, Trot & Canter on each rein as a group before an individual show which should include all of above aswell
