hi,

ANy tips etc for my intermediate SRT?
Im not sure if its worth all the effort.... and the expense!

He's had a few years off, and hes currently got a chaser clip im not sure whether to clip it all off now? Or will his summer coat be ruined?

Also some people now i know clip there horses is summer with a fine blade?

Its a bit late to clip out now really, but if you rug him up warm and get him to lose his coat naturally u'll get a nice coat out of him.

Lots of grooming! Strapping is a good idea too, we used to do it on all our show horses from now till horse of the year!

Generally the horses that are clipped all year round arent show horses and a experienced judge will spot it and its not ideal. Fine for trimming up tho!

Some of the show cobs (usually the grey ones where it doesn't show too much) will be clipped year round but in general it should be avoided where possible.

as to whether it is worth it - impossible to say unless you have a go!

The dress circle lycra all in ones are great for getting smooth, shiny coats (along with correct feeding and grooming).
