I took this pony that i just ride for someone to a show, it was only a small fun day show at my yard, although lots of out side liveries turned up!
Dressage went really well got 4th out of 15 people!
Done veteran class as she is 22! she come 3rd out of 9 people
I done prettiest mare and she was pulled in for 2nd place! but she decided to kick the horse stood in 1st, the judges steward was really nice and said we cant have her placed with that behaviour but i will give you a special! i did have a red ribbon in her tail all day!
My horse cost me a 2nd place! lol

Want to take her to another show on 1st august, in the show ring i am going to when lined up stand a bit behind and when walking around the ring be at the back, but anyone got any tips of keeping a horse at a show calm, im worried for when the judge looks at her she does fidget and move her bum around!

Personally, I wouldn't take a horse showing if it clearly didn't enjoy the experience. Neither would I be very happy if I was next to you in a line up and your horse kicked out and would expect you to stand well out of kicking range of other horses. Why not stick to dressage and other disciplines which don't involve your horse standing for long periods of time and getting bored and fidgety?

This is something I would be interested in ..my horse took a phase of not standing still I made her work more and this helped as she was glad to stand by then, I hack only, so how do you get a horse even after working hard stand still for long periods and exactly how much space should be between each horse. Is there a set rule?

There is no set rule but I would not expect to be kicked by a fellow competitor's horse so just use common sense in the show ring, as you would in a collecting ring.

Sorry, but if I had been judging I would have sent you out :(

There is no such place as "at the back" when you are going round the show ring (unless it is very large and there aren't many entries:)) - Until you are sure that she will behave and not kick anyone, I would restrict her to other disciplines, or maybe say that at her age she doesn't need to be going to shows at all?

Probably not what you wanted to hear, sorry :)
