Hey I have been loaning a horse for about a month now and a show has just come up in the area. I have been riding for 10 years. I am loaning a lovely Irish cob about 14.2 hh. I don't know what classes I can enter him for. I have got him jumping small straights as he hadn't jumped in ages. Also what jacket I have a tweed jacket and long boot but someone said that I couldn't wear long boots. I'm 13 and just about to get a new hat as my one is getting a bit old. Any suggestions on what classes would be very helpful.
Thank you

You can contact the secretary and ask. I would not worry too much, a child will wear joddies and short boots, not sure about you, I think long boots will be fine. Make sure everything is clean. You can get shirts and ties from the charity shop.
I took my youngster to a local show, they were on every week, he went in the best turnout, they were all aduts who had tweed jackets, double bridle and long boots etc, I was 4 out of 4 but he did a nice walk and trot. which was the intention, I wanted a small class so he would not get excited.
He could have managed the small course even though he was only broken a few months, they were tiny and no need to canter, there were lots of lead rein ponies in the class, it was all very informal but a bit chaotic.

I think you will be fine without going to such great detail at this stage, eye make up is for those fancy little ponies ridden by girls with red silk bows :), their ponies are always perfectly behaved, its just not normal!
The big question is whether to plait his mane, we need photos :)
