Showing help wanted please

Can anyone direct me to any info that I can get re: showing please. E.G. dress rules, bits etc. and generally just a bit of info on how to do it!

What are you planning on showing and which classes? Different classess have different rules and dress codes.

Ooooh! Need piccies! Is he registered with a breed society? How old is your Daughter and are you planning on showing affiliated or unaffiliated? If you are planning on doing county level and your daughter is 25 or under then you have several options Intermediate Show Hunter, Intermediate Show Riding Type (depending on the horse's build), small hunter, lightweight hunter, ladies hunter (side saddle) etc. I am not sure on the heights of all the hunter classes but someone on here will be able to help. Get yourself some books on the subject "Showing Masterclass", The Complete Handbook Of Showing" and many more. Pssst.... Piccies??!

Sorry... for hunter classes you will need to be dressed in 'ratcatcher' and horse in plain double bridle (unless it is a novice class in which case a snaffle is sufficient) and plaited preferably with a well pulled tail.

Daughter is 14. Horse is an 8 year old mare and we haven't got round to registering her with any of the various bodies yet! Daughter has had her a year and just starting to go out to shows etc. This is just a small local show, but I want to make sure that we at least look as if we have got some idea!!
