any tips ? ... This will be our first major show for the filly in may at balmoral show in belfast , As she is a yearling and is going to be roughly about 16hh My hubbie is going to show her, she can be strong and hard to handle, She is an ISH filly is a bay , My Hubbie is about 5ft 9 so not the tallest, What do you suggest he wears ? Hes got strawberry blonde hair so not every colour is going to suit him lol .

Ha If you find anything that makes it easy let me know!
People keep telling me to show my 3 year old inhand but I dont fancy water skiing round the ring!
She is well behanved and leads well at home but I jsut know she would be a nightmare outside!
Is OH horsey?

I took my baby out last year to BD Breeding champs and East of England and was so proud of the way she coped with so many diverse things.
Dont forget that babies tire mentally very easily, so if you give yourself lots of time to settle her in in the car park and let her have a look round.
This is amazing experience for the future and better a baby, than a strapping 4 year old.
Hacking jacket, tie and chinos are fairly normal wear for sports horse classes

How big are the parents??????

both sets are 16.3hh/17.hh, havent measured her yet but at the minute she is roughly 15.2hh and shes 11mths old, the show is not until may so she will therefor be 14/15mths old

Hubbie isnt horsey in any way lol but he can handle her the very best, I do plan to get him to practise walking her up inhand and to trot her, he has taken her to a smaller local show just to see what she would do, Shes already been to a few bigger shows with her breeder in a mare and foal class.

Love my hubbie to bits for doing this

Well we have a 11 month old that's just 15hh - out of a 17hh mum, by a 16hh dad. He won't do much growing now, but over the summer will.

Just seems very big for a yearling. Either way it's quite irrelivant. Good luck with showing her.

We have noticed a big change in her already, her headcollar which is a cob one is on its last whole and its a good leather one which is quite big anyways lol .... Again my facts are based on the breeder who has shown for years and was the one that bred her ... I thought it was very big too lol hence why im getting hubbie to show her lol but thanks xx

When showing my sports horse stallion i tended to wear hacking jacket with blue shirt and tie with chino's and also riding hat with harness cut off and a pair of good grip boots

We show my 2 yr old. she has been going to local shows since she was 6 weeks old with her mum, as she has got older she is becoming stronger, my dad showed her last year as it was her first year without her mum there. He has ginger hair and so had the same problem but he just wore casual shirt and tie with some trousers, he also wore a wax hat usaully. You may also find that young horses behave quite well at shows when in the ring mine does as she has got something to look at all the time and not the same thing, its mostly when she is waiting to go in the ring she plays up. Good luck xx
