thanks

Does she have ISH passport?
They are normally, in fact always, hunter types and should be turned out as one. They are ISH classes, but she could also do hunter classes.

Pulled and plaited, trimmed, if she is under 3 in hand bridle, 4 and over double bridle in hand.
Inhand for your self- brown jodhpur boots, beige trousers (for horse with dark legs, dark trousers with horses with light legs, i.e greys), shirt and tie, tweed jacket, velvet hat/beagler, brown gloves, show cane :)

Waves to colleen! :D

OP, ISHs come in many forms - I had one that was a riding horse, one that was a small hunter and one that was a LW - all ISH's! In fact one was a pony so we did whp :p

Can you show us a picture of your horse :)

Agree with Only me. ISH come in many shapes and guises so you are best to post a photo up so you can be advised as to what "type" she is. ISH is effectively a generic term and while a lot of people assume its a straight ID x TB mix, that is actually not the case. I have had a lot and while they would fall into the same category (bought to event), sounded similiar on paper and even had some of the same breeding lines, not one of them looked remotely like any of the others!

a small hunter, whp, LW are all hunters. If showing a riding horse in hand I would use a fancy browband, other than that its exactly the same.
A picture would help though :)

I was just making the point that ISH's come in all shapes and sizes so not necesserily (sp) are hunters.

Quite a lot of Cobs are also ISH's, as it really is anything bred in ireland to your more traditional IDxTBs :)

A picture is really the only way to see what catagory they fit into :)

ISH is an Irish Sport Horse, in other words anything bred/registered in Ireland that is not a Thoroughbred (registered with Weatherbys) or an Irish Draught Horse or a Connemara. Picture please!

Whilst we're on the subject, what is the difference between blue and green Irish passports? My mare is considered an ISH but is actually half warmblood and has a blue passport.

Sorry not to be of any help OP, but you'll have to take some pics for us if you go out showing. :)

Blue passport is a catch-all; anything which is either "breeding not recorded" or other than TB, IDHS or crosses between. I have a half Friesian mare which has a blue ISH passport, and an unpapered Spanish horse!

hi domino, thank you so much for all your comments. my mare is 15.3. what classes do you think would be suitable? i have taken her to local shows but want to start getting her into trailblazer qualifers

She would be eligible for trailblazer sport and hunter classes.
Small hunters are 15.2hh and under and large hunters are over 15.2hh. 15.3hh is a bit of an awkard height as she will look 'small' next to a 17hh hunter! Is she a 'big' 15.3hh?
If you don't want to show her in double a hunter bridle with reins would be more correct than a flash with a plain cavesson and browband :)

a huge thank you to everyone who has commented, it was very useful. i took my mare to a show on sunday, came home with 3 x 1st and 1 x 2nd. so i guess she did very well bless her.

can i ask if anyone knows how best to find dam or sire details for my mare... ive tried the irish sport horse society and basically got sent from pillar to post. i dont have any details on her at all, there is no further name other than tilly.. no number or letters to her name.
i would be very grateful if anyone could assist as im at a lost end. i would like to get her passport changed to an irish one but i need to find details...
