as my pony is now 17 i was just browsing the veteran horse societies website to see whats what, as ive seen one of there shows local to me. was toying with idea of having a go but as im a pony squasher i checked rule book and it says nothing [i can see] of age just "correct height/weight for pony" ... so do i count as being too big as not a child? shes 13.1, im 5ft 2 8stone and 22! If classed as too big i think theres some inhand i could do anyway possibly.

Go for it!

I've just started doing the VHS classes with my pony (she's 14.1 PBA and I'm about 5'4 and 27 yrs old).

We did our first one on Sunday and qualified for the regionals!!! :)

oh well done thats great !!!!!! any pics from it? love seeing pics!

I often dont get too much choice of classes at locals shows that i fit in properly, just workers, everything else is age restricted usually, or RC pony shes a little too forward for so i dont bother.

Think i will have a bash then! I only do 2 showing shows in the year so be good to do a little more.

thanks poppymoo also, she looked fab at that show i felt really proud of how she has turned out in the last yr or 2.

I agree, go for it you look lovely together, just the right size and certainly not too big IMO.
My 9 nearly 10 year old daughter is almost 5ft 2 by now I'd imagine, before Easter she was 5ft 1, she weighs 6 stone and is riding an 11.2 at the moment and looks fine. She has long legs, so her feet are OK so long as she doesn't jump more than 2ft 9 as she can catch a pole, but this will really be the only year she'll be able to jump her, I have a feeling her legs will be too long next year. At least at 22 you've stopped growing upwards!

Go for it, the winner of the supreme champ at olympia last year was a 17/18YO on a pony about 13hand, so probably too 'old'er rider. Youll do fab
