Ok so Ive trawled the Internet and still I'm no wiser. I've shown youngsters before but at 2 and 3 yr old so im guessing it's a little different at 1. He's a Dutch warm blood and I'll be doing hunter/sport horse breeding classes.
All I want to know is:-
Does he need to be bitted? Some sites say yes some say no, yes he's gelded coz a couple of sites say that colts must be bitted.
Can anyone recommend me a showing bridle or point me in the right direction on what to go for? A lot of site talk about a "3 way" instead of attaching a lead rein to the bit. That's just a chain or leather attachment that allows you to connect the rein without being on the bit right?
Because I'll also be showing my hunter is the same dress ok? Jodhpurs, tweed jacket, long boots, velvet show hat etc or should I be swapping the jodhpurs for trousers and jodphur boots?
I'm going to go and watch at the 1st show I could have taken him to so I can 1, eye up the competition and 2, see what I need to be doing. Any other tips and pointers greatly accepted x
