Hi y'all

I have a baby (6 but younger in his head) traddy cob who is loverly looking but is also a great big scaredy cat. From a horsey that couldn't be ridden in the summer he is now working very nicely -- and we have had enough trust in each other to do a few little dressage tests just to get him out and about -

I want to take him into the showing ring and I would feel confident to ride him there as I know his little 'quirks' and can stop them before they start but I wouldn't trust him with a ride judge.

So my question is do the chaps judges ride the over 148 cm traditional cobs - cos if they do I think I'm going to have to hold off for another 6 months or so...

Thanks

Vicki

at some shows yes, ive been to a reginal show and done the sports horse class and horse was ridden by the judge.

tbh i wouldnt worry, you can always tell the judge your worries and leave it up to them so long as they are not going to get put on a floor.. they ride for a tiny amount of time... 2 mins if that.

i was worried 2 as my mare was a right stropper and the weather was awful.. when the judge rode her, we had a camera men fall over backwards in a hedge and a kid rustling in a hedge.. mare didnt care lol ... it won us the class!

edited.. it was a star for the future class not sports horse..
