Showing People - Riding Horse or Hunter?

Hi - not been on here for ages!
I've got a young horse, broken in March, just turned 4, that I am bringing on and just started doing a few small local shows with (we came 2nd last weekend in Show Hunter )
I've been out of the show circuit for years so if you are knowledgable in that area I would welcome your opinions.
Would you class this horse as a Hunter or Riding Horse? I've entered him for quite a big local agricultural show soon in the Riding Horse class but wondering now if that was the right decision (its an in hand class - not perfected canter yet to actually do a ridden class at that level!)

at the moment id say riding horse he does look more hunter type but would need to fill out quite a bit esp topline

He's got lots of filling out to do yet and plenty of growing upwards I think!

AdorableAlice - he's just TBxWB nothing spectacular breeding wise. His sire is Snittles JDS by Randi and his dam is just a mare.

I bought him in May as a project to bring on and sell next year but he's such a lovely character, affectionate, so easy and well mannered that my OH has completely fallen in love with him and I can see us keeping Ernie a lot longer than that!

Looking forward to teaching him to jump later in the year and perhaps do Working Hunter next year although I reckon he will love XC - his stride just eats the ground

Sorry for rambling - he's such a star, I could talk about him all day!

If you're thinking of doing WH with him next year, I think you've answered your own question. He's a young hunter. The judge will be looking for the type, in the full knowledge that youngsters still have some growing/filling out to do.

He is lovely.

Hunter - he's got a very classic hunter head that'll look great with a big cavesson and way too much bone for a RH
