Tomorrow I'm doing a showing show with my welshie. Mainly in-hand but a ridden tack and turnout class.

She has black tack, but I know brown is best for showing - should I wear black boots and have a black cane & gloves to match, or my brown boots, brown cane and brown gloves?

I have both just not sure which.

I think you should go for the black will look much better!

Good luck with the showing!

actualy brown is better for black gloves are a no no in T&T. Cane should always be brown.
boots depends is it a large breed or small breed? small breeds short brown boots, large breeds long black boots

She's a welsh section D.

Only have short boots & gaiters in each colour..So you saying I should have brown gloves & cane but the black boots?

That might look best actually bearing in mind my saddle is black...But I can't find my black gaiters -cries-

Black gloves are incorrect for showing. I would use the brown gloves and cane and wear black boots. That said, I am use very dark brown boots, gloves and cane for Chancer as they match his dark bay patches. Some of the show producers do use brown boots but black is the norm.

I used to use black tack and boots on my piebald mare - again some people do at top level as it looks better on the horse. Brown is traditionally used but not essential.

Have fun and I hope you do well.

I ended up doing the black jod boots/black gaiters, brown cane and brown gloves and came 5th out of 12
