I have posted this...everywhere.
In the next couple of weeks I am doing my first ridden class
A slight problem. I have never done an in hand class before, nevermind a ridden one!

I know what i have to do for the group show but what on earth do i have to do for my individual?
I know the judges want to see walk, trot and canter but what is the best way to do this? figures of 8's, circles etc?
By the way, the mare i'm going on is about 14hh, tri coloured, very pretty and a very light cob X type, with a nice trot and a good canter bu her walk lets her down.

Having said that, i wouldn't care if we came last, its experience for me and for her, Shes only 6/7. I'm really excited. I really can't wait!

I always walk straight away from the judge so she see's me behind and how straight my horse is then turn right ( right is my horses better rein). I then go straight into trot on that corner and trot down the long side and then canter. I then change the rein and do the same on the other side but my ind show depends on the space i have to work in and if there are WH jumps in the way from the previous class. I then show a gallop approach the judge straight on in walk and halt and salute.

Keep is short and sweet and it last no longer than 2 mins of or you feel for the porr judge with people going on and on and on and sending everyone to sleep.

I see you aren't far from me, where are you off to?

Keep it short and sweet.

Come out of the line and halt so the judge can look you over. Walk away, pick up trot after a few strides - tends to be along the front of the line (although don't ride under their noses!), turn away from the horses, trot the long side, on the corner pick up canter, take the long diagonal to change the rein (and leg thru trot), canter then extend the canter for a few strides before coming back to walk and calmly halting away from the judge (as the next person will be stood ready).

Good luck, and enjoy.

I'm off to soar valley, so not a huge amount of space available, i don't think. Depends what ring i'm in. i'm really excited but really nervous. I'll make sure i don't go first lol.
I have a feeling it will go wrong but we all have to start somewhere

But my mission is try something new and enjoy it which i have a feeling it will
