I dont know even the slightest bit about showing so I was hoping someone could help me see if showing is where I should aim her. Just looking for general advice re confirmation as she is unbroken. She is 5 and will be broken soon.

She is part bred welsh with breeding recorded but Im here in Ireland so not sure if breeding is any good. We only brought her in today so mane and feet will be tackled this week.

She's very nice! :-)

I am not very well up on the native/Welsh showing sides of things, however, I think if she is part bred then she may be better off having her mane and tail pulled and shown as a show pony.

I have a feeling I am probably amiss with this one though, so will await to see some other replies.

ETA, her conformation looks good, though obv given her stage in life she has a lack of topline as to be expected. It is difficult to see properly though without seeing a pic of her stood still and square.

Thanks for the reply! I have so little idea about showing so Im very out of my depth here!

She has quite a lot of Welsh in her it seems, her Sire and Damsire are both pure Welsh so the part bred must be coming in on the Dams Dam side but cant find much info on it.

She wasnt up to standing still much today so this is the best pic I have :)

As she isnt pure bred you really have no choice but to trim and plait her

There are classes at some shows for part bred welsh but these should have their passport stamped by the WPCS (either issued by them as PBW or if another issuer then over stamped by them - i think thats correct!)

Im not sure if the pony would be better shown as a show pony or show hunter pony. The best way would be to show and ask for some feedback. She is a pretty pony and there will be a slot for her somewhere :)

Thanks for the replies guys!

She has a book from WPCS so she would be ok in that regard.

If she ends up tipping the scales and going over 128 she will go into show hunter classes as they go up to 133 so I guess when I get her measured that decision might already be made for me!
