showing please help!!turnout

im going to north west champs next month but have no idea what i should do with my mares tail...she is a chestnut thoroughbred that is shown as a hack....she had her tail pulled when i bought her and it looked hideous as it is chestnut on top but black on the sides and once pulled all you can see is black and a few chestnut hairs...i have now grown it out enough to plait but was told that the fashion for showing is now to have a pulled tail!

does anybody knowledgable know whether this is completely true? am i best pulling it regardless of the strange colours and should i just plait it anyway? really stuck!!please please help!!

Depends if you're going for fun or to win. If its for fun and you don't like it pulled then plait it. You're the one who is going to have to look at it every day until it grows back.
