Showing Potential? HELP! *Pics*

Just thought I should grab some advice from all you showing experts on here!

Freddie is my 14hh, skewbald 4yo. I was given him in September having been ridden 4 times (ever!) and he is now ready to be sold on in the spring. I am going to aim him at the eventing market but i just wondered if you thought he had any potential in the show ring?
He has clean limbs, lovley manners - wise head on young shoulders- and 3 quality paces, im not sure on his breed but i would guess a welshie x - been placed every time out and was 3rd in his first ever dressage/first outing.
The pictures are quite old (all in october) when he first came but my sister wont upload the recent ones!!
Would really appreciate your comments - especially on a price and showing!?!

I think he has potential, he's well marked and looks like he has good paces and conformation. I really like him

i dont think he's chunky enough or has enough feather to do 'traditional' classes... i dont know what hel look like in non traditional.. hes certainly marked ok. he might look very nice plaited and feathers snipped. might be a bit 'plain' for the higher end of showing but u should defo take him to some local shows to see how he goes

I was gonna say the same as cilsane about clipping the feathers and then plaiting him and seeing what he looks like.
I think he would do grand in coloured classes (maybe not HOYS standard but hes definetly a smart little chap!)
also, with his jump doing working hunter pony classes or something would be an idea.......

I think he looks a really nice horse (pony)!

I agree along the worker lines...
He loves his jumping and i think he would get bored pure showing - would put up with it just hes a really jolly kick and go pony. I want him to have an extra special home - if he was a hand bigger i would keep him! Any price ideas?

I personally would think about £3-4k??

but I am not sure I cud be totally off the mark.....

Yes my teacher said 4k its alot for a baby but he is very talented and is a super PC pony i have a 9yo riding him as she is scared of her own pony!

ye I think a young horse who has a lot of potential, and has proven themselves (I am assuming he has some competition experience seeing as you have a dressage comp picture etc?) is worth the money

Id say ask around £4K but maybe expect to get a bit less due to economic climate and all that

rachy - id be tempted to grow him (put him in a pot of manure and leave over spring) and sell him to me when he is 16hh+

He's very nice, but looking at the state of the current market, I think you may struggle to get 4k, a pony has to be pretty spectacular to fetch that kind of price at the moment.
But then I'm sure the market will pick up come the spring x

I would trim out, pull and plait and show as NN pony or a working hunter pony. There are some coloured workers out there as well and you could try hunter pony classes with him.

Looks like he will be a nice all round pony for someone, if he is good in all ways, clip load etc and performs well and you can get a few results under his belt, £3,500 - £4,000 is achievable.
