Ok I am going to a fun show next Saturday on a 15hh medium/heavyweight cob. I have cream jodphurs, a black show jacket, white shirt, gaiters etc. But what should I do with the horse? I want to pull his mane (its about 6 inches long, I pulled it last week) and plait it (this should be interesting!). What should I do with his feathers? They aren't huge but as a cob should be just be left au naturale and leave his mane or should be be clean cut and trimmed?
I have never done this before so I need all the help I can get!

Well it was pulled because he just didn't suit it and he was very hot under it. The shorter mane makes his neck look amazing. I think he would look good with no feathers as his feathers are not "proper" feathers if you see what I mean?

on a heavyweight you need to go traditional i.e full mane and feather or hog and trim!!

His owner won't let me hog him although he does definately have the neck for it and would look really good hogged.
I think the comprimise is plaits and no feathers.
Unfortunately I don't have a tweed jacket that I could borrow, but its just a fun show so I am doing it for the experience, as long as I look remotely smart I don't think they will mind too much
