My friends has been viewing a cob and she quite like it; however due to its breeding we are quite confused as to how she would show it... Tha horse is a 14.3hh coloured cob, welsh x traditional, he has a lovely long mane and tail but no/very little feathers - would she show as a traditional or native coloured untouched or as a hogged show cob??? What do you think?? I cant put a pics on due to copy wright as she has nit yet purchased the horse!!

As an arab person I like full manes on every horse, but I can see how smart heavy cobs look when they are trimmed and hogged.
 
Difficult without pictures, however if he has minimal feather, then I would show as a native - so shorter mane but not hogged. He is a little bit small to be a show cob - although 14.3 is within the guidelines, the height combined with his breeding may mean he is a bit too pony like and therefore native would suit him better.

Pictures would make it waaaay easier to comment!!!
 
Well if she buys him i will be sure to post pics and get opinions. What is the recommended height for a show cob as at 5 yrs old he may still grow!
 
Minimum height is 14.2 - but you will find that most are full up 15.1 (155cm). This is not just because "bigger is better" but because a 14.2 wll generally have the look and conformation of a pony and a show cob is meant to be a small stocky horse.

Edited to add, if the pony is currently 14.2 and is the offspring of a welsh x traditonal, then even if it does grow bigger, it is likely still to be quite pony like as there does not appear to be any horse cross in the breeding.
 
Having viewed him with my friend , he certainly doesnt appear pony like but i have nothing to compare him to and perhaps once stood up in a class he will look like a pony?!!
