Could someone clarify what they mean in the schedules when they divide pony classes into A Show type and B Non show type?
Thanks

I've never heard of this division before. What does the schedule actually say? Is this 2 different classes or 2 catagories in which there are many different classes?

Thanks for your reply.

Well first class which is lead rein pony and then it is subdivided into these two catagories.

Then its the same for first ridden.

Its only small shows but this is the third show schedule that I have had with the divisions.

I can't be certain Pillow 'cos I haven't seen this before but I would guess that the first division is for ponies that might normally compete in, or could compete in, regular showing classes i.e a more "quality" type, and that the second division is for more ordinary ponies -perhaps with more obvious native blood i.e "hairies". Could you call the secretary and ask?

Forgot to say that reading it gives the impression that you will be divided on the day - is that right or do you have to actually "enter" a particular division?

show type is plaited up and trimmed ponies and non show type is when they are shown in their natural state, such as shetlands welsh ponies dartmoor etc.not necessarily less quality ponies just different breeds who are turned out according to their breed. our riding club divides LR and FR this way
