Ok what colour tie, with brown check tweed jacket, yellowy/mustard colour with black flowers or green with horse heads, i will also be wearing a white shirt, brown cords and brown hat...

also its my cobs first show and although he doesnt kick at home, im not sure what he will do at a show, is it acceptable to put a green ribbon on the top of his tail to let people know its his first outing ??? its a small local inhand show.... thanks in advance and sorry if my questions seem thick! x

It would be wise to put a green ribbon in his tail, just to be on the safe side. As it is his first show make sure he is wearing a strong enough bit, possibly with a Newmarket chain attached to the leading rein, then you should have good control.

As far as a tie goes, I would try and find a plain, un-patterned one to go with a check jacket. There are usually loads to choose from at Charity Shops. You could go bright - e.g. red if your cob is as a show cob, i.e. hogged & trimmed, or go with brown, gold or yellow, if he is M &M .

Can you get a yellow/cream shirt - or stick the white shirt in the washing machine with a tesco value yellow duster - one yellow shirt. Would look far better. I would go for the yellow mustard colour.

This is my t/o for my traditional cob. I now have a green tweed.

Wear light trousers for dark legs and dark trousers for light legs. Gloves should be brown and never black.

Hope you do well and have fun
