Quite a few times it is mentioned about the pitfalls of the showing world where people have had a bad experience and feel aggrieved and worse some people have left the showing world completely.

Some people blame the pro's for seemingly getting placed when they shouldn't, over height horses etc. The list is endless.

This got me to thinking....is there anyway this could be resolved with the various societies.. The owners and riders are the lifeblood of showing and in the credit crunch times where people are finding it harder and harder to get out showing to have people put off by "the glass ceiling" seems daft to me...

What do you guys think ie: should judges be independant of the societies and non competitors? Should there be a limit on how many times a qualified horse can be shown after qualifying when places only go down to 2nd? that sort of thing.

It just seems a shame to me how many people have left the showing world and what could be done to change it.

The horse world in general and in showing is so fragmented that i dont think you would ever get anywhere trying to get a cohesive standardisation of regulations.

I have seen so much corruption, from county level to HOYS, where qualifying and places are so blatantly fixed i think that a whistleblower series would be fab!
