I've had to wait until I received my purchased images before I could write this report :)

A couple of Sundays ago seen Torin and I off to our first showing show of the season at Highfield. Torin has been hanging onto his winter coat like his life depends on it and he'd dropped a bit of muscle over the winter so I was a bit dubious about taking him, I'm rather glad I did listen to friends who told me I woulndnt be the only one in that situation.
We had entered the inhand and ridden coloured classes as this is what we plan to do at the Fife show. The 5:15am alarm that was set was met with a vicious glare when it went off in the morning :( I appear to have one of the few coloured pony's who manages to stay spotless in his stable, albeit if it was because I buried him in clean shavings! Very chilled pony in our in hand class for 4th, top 3 were stunning! Short wait, then we tacked up and headed to warm up for the ridden class with a very hot horse! Spent loads of time chilling and taking it all in before cracking on and actually warming up, then we were called in. He felt on form, he sometimes gets a bit down on the forehand in the pelham but he felt much much better and really swinging along (and very keen) Judge pulled us into 1st place, made a silly blip in our show where I didnt set him up enough before I asked for a canter transition so he attempted to take the easy option and strike off on the wrong leg, quickly corrected and we were the only combination to show a lengthening of stride/'gallop'. Super thrilled to be pulled back into 2nd, esp since my friend and her lovely lovely pony were in the class too (she was pulled in 3rd) this meant we were called forward to the championship. Not to be our day though, T had become quite tired and fed up and abruptly switched off on me and was v full of it on the go round (cue some beautiful leaps into canter)
I was v emotional and proud, I've only done showing a handful of times and the highest I've ever been placed was 3rd, so to be placed 2nd, initially first, and then compete in my very first championship against some well seasoned combinations was just fantastic! I will admit to a few tears when we came out of our ridden class.
We have another practice run at the same venue, then the following week we are away to compete at Fife County show :D

please dont take note of my dodgy clip lines in the last one, it was my very first clip

Thank you all, totally appreciative of any tips and advice anyone has! I have just ordered a new thicker nose band and tail comment is much agreed with! EKW will see you there!

Great! I'd also lose the scrunchie too if you're wanting a more 'professional' look, but completely up to you and I doubt it would alter results!

Smart chap :)
In addition I think a closer fitting/wool collared numnah would look smarter, and can you take the label off your girth?

Congrats!
Please don't tuck your stirrup leathers into the keepers on your saddle. For showing it looks messy and disrupts the clean lines you should be aiming for

Thank you all, I'm still very much new to the showing scene!

I was always unsure of what was proper to do with them for showing, thank you for clearing that up :)

I have a new leather girth on its way which hopefully doesn't have a label, if so I will make sure to cut it off! Will also look into a new numnah, I think he's deserving of a nice wooly one :)

lol, usually one that would be technically too short for normal use seems to work ok, I used to use one I had shrunk in the wash :o. Ah new leather one will be fine :), I part noticed it because I had to remember to cut the labels off mine.
