When showing, if you don't have long boots can you wear chaps, or do you have to wear jodhpurs + jodhpur clips? If you can wear chaps, do they have to be leather or can the be the fabric/suede ones?
thanks
(:

I think if you are doing local showing then chaps will be fine. Leather would look better than suede.

I think if you are under 16 you should wear jodphur boots and clips but normaly at local showing as long as you look smart its ok

Very true, i have never seen anybody where boots and chaps when showing but i'm sure it will be fine, leather would look better. If possible you could buy a cheapish pair of long leather riding boots but if you can't no problems. Good Luck x

At my first ever show i was pretty inexperianced (i looked awful :o) and wore the jod clips and jod boots but many people wore chaps. Today i went to a local WH (*NOT* WHP - there were horses in the class) and wore synthetic (not leather) chaps + spurs despite being under 16 and came 3rd. The judge didn't say anything about them. So i think you should be OK with chaps!

Ok then. Yeah i'm under 16. I think i'll take both my chaps and jodhpur clips, then see what everyone else is wearing when i get there and decide.
thanks :)

if you are junior you can wear jhods with clips and short boots but if you are senior you have to wear long boots, ive never seen anyone wearing chaps but maybe gaiters are ok but i dont really know

I can't remember all of them! Me + my sister are doing quite a few on Bella, it's hers + our first show! :) I know i'm doing equitation, but i can't remember the others  :p the show is the day after my birthday, so i know what i'll be doing all evening :p :D
thanks for all your help :)
