i am due to show my yearling again in a couple of weeks and was just after some tips on how to chill him out so that he actually performs the way he should as our first show wasn't that good  but hey i still love him if he comes first or last but would be nice to show other people what he is usually like. i know people say practice make perfect. but i walk him twice everyday on the road in traffice and he is the best i mean my kids even walk with us. he stands for traffic no matter how big or small. he walks and trots tidy and stands well.so just after so tips from people that have been there with babies as i have only ever shown adult horses that have seen and done it all. and that was so long ago that i am a little rusty as well :D:) any tips would be much appreciated.

It's time and experience - take him to as many shows as possible - at some take him into the class at others just go for a walk around and practise what is done at home.

You were probebly nervous as well which he will have picked up on. It's so frustrating when you know how well they behave at home.

Milo as a yearling spent his whole season spinning around neighing at everyone but the next year was an absolute pro in the ring and did really well. His sister takes it all in her stride and works really nicely. Mum preens and struts - she knows she is beautiful and makes sure everyone else knows.

Have fun and don't despair!
