I am planning on taking my old boy in hand showing next weekend. I am planning to do veteran class and my sharer is going to do child handler with him. what turnout for all of us?

what type of bridle should i use for him?

i have a coloured browband i can use, showing is so confusing!

If you can use the noseband from teh second pic with the bridle in the first pic :)

For inhand you should wear smart trousers, white shirt with a tie and a hacking jacket or waistcoat if you don't have one :) Hair should be tied back in a net if needed and a hat - I always show my horse using my proper riding hat coz shes a bit prone to exploding :p

He looks gorgeous - doesnt look like a veteran at all!! Good luck :)

i only have a black jacket, no hacking jacket or waistcoat. always wear hat with hairnet.

and would you use coloured browband? this is the one i have (different horse)

he's very fine so I would use the first bridle as I would tend to turn him out as a riding horse or hack. Do you have a similar noseband but without the flash attachment bit? If you wanted to go for riding horse then 1st bridle, tweed jacket, shirt and tie and gloves, beige jods, long boots. Hack: coloured browband with 1st bridle, navy jacket with shirt and tie, canary jods, long boots.

Child handler shouldn't matter as long as child is smart! Personally i'd stick to 1st bridle.

edited to add: posted at same time. ok black jacket will do, do you have a brighter tie to go with browband? If you can put your hair in a bun with net over the top it will look smarter

Yup...Pale trousers as you're horse has dark legs.

I think he's built like a riding horse (not 100%, but does look too fine for a hunter. you might want to double check though), so the coloured browband.

Hat choice for you is up to you, but i'd make sure your sharer wears hers as i'm guessing (by class choice) shes under 16.

For 'correctness' the 2nd style, but with billets not buckles. And the noseband up a hole so it's more snug and a slightly narrower browband too if possible.

At local level for me though, I'd much rather see the horse in it's normal tack working happily, than put in new 'show correct' for the day if not normally used to it.
I think for child handler too, a snaffle would be more suited also. :)

right so, for him first bridle with 2nd noseband, coloured browband and snaffle from first photo.

me shirt my red and black tie ok? black jacket. now am i wearing jods and long boots like in the one of me showing my mare or black trousers (all i have) and smart shows? i will have my hair like in the trotting photo. sharer much the same.

ETA i would class him as smack bang in the middle or lightweight hunter and riding horse as he has alot of bone of a riding horse but almost not enough for a hunter.

Dont wear jods and long boots for an inhand class unless its an unaff class and it looks like you're doing a ridden class with him too :) Also make sure the shoes you do wear are ones you can run in
