Mare & foal showing - what is the correct turnout for county level?

Mare - havana double bridle w/ flat browband & noseband? Tail pulled or plaited?

Foal - plaited?

Handlers - same as youngstock classes? (i.e. sturdy boot, pale trousers, cream shirt, tie, tweed jacket, beagler/hat)

if you are doing hunter classes, look on the sportshorse GB website as you can download their rules which give you the corect dress code and turnout.

Yes, but preferably plaited.

Foal - plaited?
No , and with a foal size leather headcollar and browband (not foalslip or fillyslip)

Handlers - same as youngstock classes? (i.e. sturdy boot, pale trousers, cream shirt, tie, tweed jacket, beagler/hat)
Yes, and Bowler for men.

Class is "Broodmare calculated to produce a high quality sport horse" - does that count as hunters?!

I've always seen foals plaited up no matter what the class (except M&M's).
I prefer a pulled tail on a mare (not on the foal) but it is up to you.

Hunter foals are rarely plaited, and unless they have a brilliant topline to their necks does them no favours at all.

SH foals are usually plaited though, and a talk I went to by a Dutch chap showed how to literally clip up the sides of the foals tail so that there was no loose hair to hang down, but not plait. I was told years ago that when you plait a foal's tail it can cause it to tense through the back and inhibit the movement.

Ok, class is in Dublin (and this is all for a friend...I don't show!)

Class is : "MARE (Medium/Heavy-weight) calculated to produce high-class horses, with foal at foot."

So hunter I assme? Although a flick through photos of previous years shows some in in-hand bridles and some in doubles.

Foal's class is: "COLT or FILLY FOAL BY A THOROUGHBRED SIRE, the produce of mare entered in class xx"

Does that help at all?

Go for the Hunter turnout and wear double bridle as you are showing in Ireland.
If you show in a sporthorse class under SHB GB rules turnout as Hunter and don't plait foals but use snaffle bridle not double on mare.
Warmblood classes not SHB GB turnout like continentals and foals plaited.
Good luck :)
