Kaluki has her first under saddle show in a week, M&M large breeds, what is the right thing to wear for the rider, not bothered about coming out with a rosette,(although that would a bonus) its just for her to have the experience.

Kaluki will be wearing white saddle cloth, gp saddle, raised browband/noseband bridle loose ring kk snaffle with lozenge. I do have a black bridle with damonties in browband/noseband only about 5 or 6, but would this be ok??

thank you in advance:)

You should wear cream jodhpurs, tweed, tie, velvet hat and long boots. No spurs and dark gloves.
Your horse should wear a dark saddle shaped numnah and plain bridle. Your bit is fine but a plain browband would be better if you have one. A cavesson noseband is ideal and no martingale. Don't plait for m&m - just clean and workmanlike - good luck and have fun!

Thank you, unbalanced!

plainest bridle is the first one I described, it is a caverson noseband, but raised.Might have black shaped numnah lurking somewhere, will sort it out.

Not me riding, but think rider said she had white jobs, will try and get hold of a tweed tie, with white shirt?? and what sort of jacket, we have a black one?
long boots and dark gloves tick tick! :)

Yes Highland afraid tack is black. and its a synthetic saddle as she is only 4 and still growing so not splashing out for new leather until she is matured enough to keep it!

Its local to me but not sure of the ''grade'' of the show. its at Merristwood next sat 6th April.

thanks for help so far.

Turn out for M&M Showing of Large breeds:

Horse: Plain, flat, leather bridle with either plain or plaited reins. Bit should be snaffle, pelham or double bridle. Saddle: GP/synthetic is ok for local level but a leather show/workers saddle would be better. Girth to match horses colour. Numnah should be discreet, neatly fitting to the saddle and of the same colour as the saddle.

Rider: Blue velvet covered hat, tweed jacket, shirt, tie, hair neatly tucked away in a hair net, beige jods/breaches, long black leather boots, brown gloves, show cane.

I do m&m large breeds. I use dark brown tack. No saddlecloth but if you have to have something under the saddle it should match the colour of either the saddle or the pony and be as discreet as possible. If a novice should be in a snaffle with a hunter noseband with no bling at all. A tweed jacket to complement the colour of the horse. Long boots and beige jods- shade should complement jacket. Brown gloves and a coloured shirt that suits the jacket. Hat ideally velvet with flesh coloured harness.
