Ive just ventured into the world of ponies, but after many years of hunters, can anyone help me please.
Should I wear a waistcoat or jacket and should wear riding hat or something else. And for her can I trim her whiskers - any trimming advice apreciated and she is 3 so should she wear rinhand or ridden bridle? - she has in hand bridle with brass clencher and hunter ridden bridle. As much info as poss would be appreciated.

For B's you wear a tweed jacket, shirt, tie, trews the opposite colour range to your ponies legs and smart, sensible boots or shoes. Hat wise - preferably either a beagler or trilby.

For the pony - At all ages an In-Hand bridle is appropriate, bitted if need be but being a filly it is not compulsory. You can trim her jawline and her ears flat but not whiskers, eyelashes, feathers et al. Mane should be pulled neatly - longer than needed to plait a hunter but not too long, 5-7in depending on how good the ponies neck is - and tail should be pulled ever so slightly at the top, not a full pull, just a neaten up. Also they should have one single plait behind the ear to show off the head, not rolled, just plaited down and either ribboned with red, blue or green in a tiny knot or just banded if the mane is black.

here is a pic of me with my B in the ring.
As EKW says really for turnout
good luck, pics are a must

She's beautiful! How old, bloodlines, etc? With regards to last photo, I'd be inclined to wear dark trousers, but I think that's just the angle making her legs looking lighter, considering her front legs are majority black.

Thanks, she is by Ernford Bellair out of Ernford Cherub. she was 3 this year.
Her head is not as delicate as a lot of the others :-(
What colour trouser would you say - just a darker beige or a different colour? - her legs are a faded black below the knee there not really dark if that makes sense.

Hi pink princess, I was just searching through the same question you asked about showing. As a couple of years ago I got a welsh b for my daughter. I thought I could have a go at some classes in between hers. You can imagine how surprised I was to read your ponies blood lines. As we have Ernford Cherub. She is an old lady now but spoilt rotten with us. Don't know if this would interest you but couldn't resist a mention. Thanks
