I was just thinking of different things I could try with my pony seeing as she does not get on with show jumping but is fine at home, so my friend suggested showing.

Can anyone please tell me where I could get started? Like what I would need to wear and what tack my pony would need to wear etc. I'm a complete beginner in this so I'm a bit clueless , I'm just worried about controlling my pony in field as I trot and canter round in a snaffle so has anyone got any tips for that?

Thanks :)

I'm quite new on here so haven't quite yet worked out how to upload pictures but she is a 14.2 black registered welsh D with 4 white socks and a white blaze that covers her nose, if that's any help?! she has black tack too and is quite finely built for her breed.
thanks!

If local i wouldnt worry about black tack as the prefe brown but i wouldnt worry to much.you will need a black nummnah to match her. thick plain noseband on bridle no flash unless jumping a snaffle will be fine unless you are able to rind with a double bridle which would be better. and you will need a tweed jacket, tie and beige jods :)

Ah- I can help here! Lol- velvet hat, tweed, canary/lemon shirt and tie, banana leg breeches (canary/corn) and long boots, black. Brown gloves and show cane, black tack is fine on black sec D, plain hunter bridle, I use 1 1/4 inch noseband on my boy, maximum embellishment is a plaited browband. (Plain leather plaited)

Here's mine! Hat and collar are navy, though they look black on the pic.

There are plenty of beige or cream breeches in those photos. Canary and tweed looks awful. Yellow jods are for blue jackets and show ponies. Even the m&m lead rein tinies should be in beige.

Well, personal choice it is then- but I choose banana legs, as cream is rare in classes around here, and I'd rather fit in :)

Having just had a second nose at the pics, I wouldn't say plenty at all, two or three out of the class? Some lemon rather than corn or canary, but not many cream.

Anyway OP, best of luck with your mare! :D
