My horse usually enjoys his showjumping , always forward , loves his cross country more forward and straight of my leg , I have been concentrating on getting him fit doing canter and gallop work along with cross country and some showjumping in between , however the last couple of times he has been showjumped he's not as forward and a bit dead to my leg , took him out Friday cross country schooling was fab nice and forward took him out sat jumping and took a while before he would concentrate and go forward from leg and settle , I am thinking just needs to do more jumping maybe enjoying the cross country a bit to much anybody else experienced anything like this , had physio vet check ect sll ok

If it's not pain and you're 100% he is healthy and well then maybe reassess feed based on the workload, breed and weight? Could be that on the Saturday his muscles were sore/tired from the previous day of cross country?

Maybe try 1-2 days of light flat work and then try showjumping again and see if it makes a difference. If it does it's most likely just his energy levels and you may want to consider changing feed if you are going to be doing lots of heavy work.
