Hi guys,
The last few shows I have been to, I have had a few issues in getting my mare to steady up and collect herself between fences. When jumping at home she listens and collects herself as soon as I ask but when competing it's almost as if she ignoring me. I didn't know if anyone had any advice on how to help keep her steady. Thank you in advanve :)

Probably the best thing is to have your regular instructor accompany you so they can see exactly what is going on. There are quite a lot of options. You may lean forward slightly because of nerves or excitement. This brings your lower leg back and sends her on. If you are in two phase competition (or if she is used to two phase) the second section is timed and often jumped faster. She may anticipate that. She may lack fitness or self carriage resulting in her rushing forward on her forehand toward the end of the round. She might just get very excited in the buzzy atmosphere. Your show numnah might not fit quite correctly putting pressure on her behind the saddle and sending her forward. A combination, or something completely different!

In general terms the best thing to do is focus on the quality of the canter rather than the jumps. Work at home to get a soft adjustable canter and then spend some time just perfecting that in competition - if you prefer go HC so it is clear you are not competing but schooling. Make sure everything fits correctly and that she is not responding to pain. Look at your warm up and the classes you do to be sure she is not getting tired - don't leave your best jump in the warm up! But all of this is much much easier if you have your instructor with you.
