Hi for those of you who have sky sports or / and eurosport, seems an expensive upgrade just for the jumping. How many events are televised live and do think its worth getting. I seem to remember a previous post saying a lot was on a loop and rubbish commentary. Any views.

My boyfriend pays for sky so it's a bonus that I can watch H&C tv!

Yes some is repeated but I'm not sat there glued to it every night so it never affects me.

We havent got the full sports package though so when the Show Jumping is on a sports channel we have to pay extra to watch it so never bother.

For the amount that I watch it, if we hadn't got it I probably wouldn't bother with it.

Disco - H&C is a free channel!!!

Horse and Country TV all the way!

You have 2 options : Get Pay Once watch forever Sky
It costs a Max of £75 one off (I got mine for £40 via eBay) and you get box and installation for that. No contract nothing to pay ever.

Or you can wait for Freesat to launch - soon everyone will have normal satelitte decoders as HD will be free and Sky won't have a monopole.

Commentry is often by Mike Tucker who I find dreadful. He constantly gets things wrong and doesn't seem to have the technical knowledge that he should (ie parallel, oxer, related distance etc etc). Jumping is also from the USA very often which would be interesting for a change if it wasn't all that was on and you didn't have to listen to... Mike Tucker

Have you tried www.sportaction.tv on the web?

Had a look at sportaction but again the shows are out of date and the same ones posted for a long time.

Measles - I don't dislike Mike Tucker, I agree for the professional his technical input may be lacking but I think for people who want to be entertained he is great. I also saw a cock up at Olympia in Dec that meant a delay and full marks to him for his improvisation . I thought they had people along side them anyway to add more technical input.
