I have been watching YouTube videos I have decided to do 2 classes when I go on a riding holiday but what I am confused about is what exactly does a double clear mean I have seen the word around on instagram does it mean that you get placed twice and get 2 red rosettes? That was the only thing I was wondering about the classes I will do 50cm and 60cm

In SJ classes you can do them in 2 phases: Ie you jump 1 round and all the clears go forward to a jump off and you jump again to see who wins. Fastest clear in the jump off wins. Double Clear (DC) means you jumped both rounds clear.

But a lot of classes are single phase where you jump the first half untimed and then go straight onto a timed section. Fastest clear also wins but you do both 'rounds' at the same time. Double clear means you jump clear in both phases.

In arena eventing you have an SJ section which goes straight onto a XC section. Again DC means both sections were clear.

In eventing DC means you were clear for SJ and the XC which are done separately.

In all cases you just get one rosette. Unless it is a clear round comp, you get the rosettes for winning/being placed not for being clear.

Sounds like it is run as a clear round comp then. In which case there won't be a timed section or a jump off.

You could get a rosette for each class so if you go clear in both classes that would be 2 rosettes.

Have fun. Hope you get those rosettes!
