im looking at stallions for my mare and would appreciate any suggestions. shes by landwind II (landgraf) X amethist (nimmerdor), 15.3hh, pretty, compact, good movement, good conformation, careful over fences. Looking for something 16.2 ish to add scope and height. Budget 1K

have been looking at balou du rouet but have read it can produce small but not sure how much truth there is in this?

Have you considered the horse Curtis. He has ability, temperament, and height too!! He's also highly regarded by his rider, who before seeing him said "No more stallions". She then changed her mind!!

i'd second balou du rouet, he has the most super canter for jumping, which makes for fluid rounds that don't waste a second, some of the best jumpers i've seen, and the ones i'd like to own have not been huge

Several stallions caught my eye at the stallion parade at Addington, the Brendon stallions especially Unbelievable Darco, also Billy Mexico from the Billy Stud.
The breeding book is still available I think from Brendon Stud, it had photos and details of lots of stallions and for £7 would give youlots of info.

I have yearlings by Cashpoint and Balou du Rouet, both completely different as types, the Cashpoint gelding is a plainer type but so is his mum! I have to say I have never owned such a kind tempered horse, he as the most amazing attitude. The Balou filly is sharper, as is her dam! She has stunning looks and beautiful paces, her dam is about 15.3hh and I'd say she will easily make this height and more. The first photo (if they come out!) is of the Balou filly (her dam is in background) the second is the Cashpoint colt! If it doesn't work check out some of my earlier posts there are photos on there!!

I'd go with the sites jcwh suggested. I've seen several Balou offspring who have been small and a couple who are tiny.

I would have a look at Ken's site and check out Cicero van Paemel, although he is slightly over budget at 1100 euros i would definately pick him if i wanted to add size and scope to a mare, as i did 2 years ago when i used him on a smallish Cornet Obolensky x Calido x Indoctro mare.

Another stallion, Cooper van de Heffinck can be found on elite stallions website. Cooper is less money and a few years younger than Cicero but is more blood, longlined and comes froms a fabulous motherline. His mother has produced 4 approved stallions: Quinault, Ceaser van de Helle, Cezaro and Cooper. His stud fee is around £700.

Otherwise Rubicolour is another very attractive boy to watch, still young, with an amazing technique over a fence, and whats more coloured!! sired by rubicell so dressage lines too!!

Some super jumping stallions in the UK, dont know what their stud fees are off the top of my head, and whether you mind frozen, but the likes of John Whitaker's Argento is a really top young horse, Billy Stud and Brendon as mentioned have some crackers. Super Trooper really caught my eye a few years ago as a young horse and Billy Twommey has J T'Aime Flamenco who is again is jumping on the international curcuit.
Balou, much as I love him, wont quarentee adding any height. We have some small ones here and some very tall ones, but smaller (say 16.1hh) is the general rule. Nearly always very nice heads, sensitive but kind personalities, good movers, really my type of horse.
Another one at Schockemohle to consider is Contendros, first crop due this year, but he himself is so elastic, real rubber ball, very very scopey and the nicest horse to handle.
Also I was vey impressed with Sprehe's Coupe D'Or, another young stallion, quite a butty type, again not huge but real scope and super attitude. http://www.gestuet-sprehe.de/deckhengste/coupe-dor/
Cashmoaker at Sprehe is also very nice but probably too small for you as he produces a bit smaller too.
