Seeing as my horse didn't get to his competition on Sunday and was still vaguely clean this morning (he lies out 24/7), I decided I would take him tonight instead. So I got back from work to find that although Mum had kindly got him in, he had obviously had great fun rolling in the mud today! I set to and got him into a fit state to take then the wind picked up and I wasn't sure whether it was safe to go but we decided we would start off and if the trailer felt wobbly we would turn around and come home. Trailer was fine though so we went.

Arrived to find the jump off for the class before mine was just starting so perfect timing and no hanging around for a change. Last time we went to South View he was wild but today he took everything in his stride and was really calm and chilled

He was jumping really well in the warm up so I didn't do much. Then went into the main arena which totally overwhelmed him last time but today although he was wary and looking back towards the exit, he listened to me much more. Unfortunately the 3'-3'3" class we did barely scraped 3' so there wasn't much to make him think and get him up in the air. But we met the jumps well and he really listened to me apart from coming into the double so just clipped the second part. He jumped fab apart from that though so I'm really pleased and feel like finally all my hard work might be starting to pay off.

Bed time for me soon ready for my 5.40 start to get to work!

Glad you had a good time and it is such a good feeling when it finally feels like it is coming together!

Thanks. I'm hoping it wasn't just a one off anf that he really is finally settling down. We'll see how he goes next time out. He's got a huge jump but it's taken nearly 4 years for him to learn how to use it properly!
