Hi there,

Having recently brought my daughter her first pony, I was hoping we could go to some little shows or gymkhanas this summer.

But I am unable to find any advertised on the net that will allow little tots. The minimum age is 5 at the ones ive found. and little ones 3.

Does any one know of any up and coming events or any thing in the future, yet to be arranged that may be suitable for her?

Does a class even exist? for lead rein ridden pony?

She is proving to have very good balance and is able to sit her self with out being held. So I thought it would be nice to get out their and have some fun together.

If not i may have to organise a show just for little tots and their ponies.lol

many thanks in advance for replies

Have you tried the riding diary website? No idea about your area but most of the shows round here have a lead rein class. I've also seen in classes like bonny pony one or two really tiny kids go in with one person leading the pony and another holding the child.

Over riding club do shows that are very welcoming to every one but I dont know if thats a bit out of your way, if not send me a PM as theres loads round this way that are great for little kiddies.

Thanks for all the replies. Ive looked up Toddington as they were my first thought but they have a minimum age of 5. So that was a no go. Will look up some of the others. I couldnt of been looking at the right websites. Im not involved in any riding clubs so didnt know where to look first as I dont show, yet any way. As previously ive had to work weekends so not been able to.

dafthoss - thanks very much but if thats Over Gloucestershire thats a bit far. But thanks any way.

Bed and District RC don't have a lower age restriction. Its got a lead rein clsss and novice handler for under 10s. The latter parents used to beable to go in and assist also.
