Hi all,

Anyone live in this area? What are the planners like? Looking at a few properties in the area most of which need either an agricultural barn or stables putting up which obviously I'd apply for planning for but how fussy are they if in the meantime I put up a few mobile shelters that am more than happy to actually move about every 6 months or whenever necessary? Also for things like extensions to houses (obviously in keeping existing house)

Never had any problems with planning and I know of several people in the area who have put up barns, stables and had menages built,no issues.

I live in the AONB. We last had planning too long ago to be relevant. However there have been quite a lot of house extensions and farm buildings erected recently

Thanks both that's promising. Have spotted nearby properties have stables/arenas so was hoping it's doable but mainly just thinking if I get temp shelters while we workout what to do long term re animal housing would that be ok

I wouldn't worry, it's such a rural area I'd be amazed if they refused! We were in that area until about 5 months ago and I never saw them refuse anything agricultural or horse related!!!
