My horse fell over and has since been found to be very sore around his Si.
Can anyone share any experiences with me with regards to having your horses SI injected.
Is this something that needs done more than once? If so what sort of time scale?
What sort of cost are the injections?
What level of competition has your horse returned to? My horse is an advanced endurance horse
What age? Mine should be coming into his prime.
Any information/experinces would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Mine had his injected following an accident, my vet said it would either work with one treatment, or not, because it was due to an injury rather than a degenerative condition so similar to yours from that point, he responded well and although not in work now it is not because of the SI, that has remained level and he is sound.
Mine was 12 when injected, cost from memory around £500 inc initial examinations etc, there was also regular physio during the rehab to take into account, I went very slowly with him and did 2 sessions most days, am hack then in the pm some in hand work and his stretches, it took a fair amount of dedication to get him back to full fitness but the result was a sound happy horse even though he is now turned away he has remained level behind whereas before the injections he was very obviously wonky.

I had an SJ'er done. It wasn't because of a fall - or at least not one we knew about - but more wear and tear / strain. It cost about the same - £500. Was a one off treatment and he was back in work within 2 days. Competing 30 days later when the withdrawal period had ended. I was told it may need to be repeated but that was 3 years ago and nothing yet.
