I am looking after my parent's dogs whilst they are on holiday. Last night Millie the chocolate lab was sick a reasonable about of blood at least twice. She is now at the vets on a drip. She is 11 and had to have a large growth removed from her spleen 6 months ago. I really hope it's not related as I'm not sure I want to make big decisions.
So I have had to ring my mum in Austraila and tell her the news and it's her birthday today, argh! And I've had to do all this with a 3 week old baby in tow. Feeling sorry for myself and for the lovely Millie, get well soon big dog.

Me and mine will have all of our hooves, paws and fingers crossed for her. Having gone through similar with my adored Ridgey I know how stressful it is.

Your vibes worked! Millie is home looking much brighter, blood tests didn't reveal anything so the vet has put it down to an old dog with an upset stomach. Back in the morning for a check but hopefully we have turned a corner, thank you for your kind words.

Glad to hear that she is home and looking brighter, fingers crossed for that tomorrows check up also is positive.

Thank you for your kind words folks, she is much brighter this morning. We have been back to the vets for a check and her temperature is down a bit but otherwise he is happy. So she is having a day by the fire which she is loving. Mother and father have been kept informed and are happy.
Vet did recomend a gentle diet for a few days, chicken and rice etc.
Is scrambled egg a good idea? I've got no chicken but plenty of eggs!

Glad to hear a positive update :).

I don't know if scrambled eggs are considered mild for dog's stomachs or not. I only know that they shouldn't eat the egg white raw, because of something like that it can affect their ability to absorb vitamin B. But that they can eat egg yolk raw, and the whole egg if you boil, fry or scramble it.
