Ok 2 of my horses have come down with the runs, not excessivly bad but enough to notice! One seems fine in himself although is drinking a bit more than usual, the other is slightly off his food, he is eating but he is taking a long while, and picking at it as apposed to eating it. I fed in field the other day and the horse at bottom of pack managed to move him on and gobble it up without him even putting up a fight! In himself he is ok, very people orientated and lively when ridden as usual. He has gone off his hay too and wont even get through 3/4 sections in 24hours (he is 17hh and in 23/7) dont turn him out as he stands by the gate all day wanting to come in!

Any suggestions? Anyone elses horses like this?

Mine did this about this time last year. Both ended up with colic after 2 or 3 days of runs. It wasn't until I sat up watching them for hours that I saw a pattern of eating, rolling, feeling better, eating etc. They stopped having the runs and colicing when we withdrew all food for 24 hours. I would keep an eye on them (as I am sure you are doing anyway!).

My horse has had the runs for a good wee while, she was fine within herself, well she was a bit more moody but thats not unusual. Anyway i hadn't changed anything so have no idea where it came from but it's away now!!!???

Just keep an eye on him, this time of year does funny things to us all!
