How big an issue are sickle hocks? Would you buy a horse with sickle hocks?

If not would you loan one if it was lovely in all other ways.

On a scale of 1(normal) to 10 about a 6.

Would be on loan, cracking pony otherwise needs flatwork but potential is there. Mahoosive jump, and temprement to die for.

I would make sure that the owner of the horse knew what sort of things you were planning to do with the pony, so you will have no come back if anything does go wrong with what he is being used for.

Shouldnt be a problem in a pony looked after ok. Plenty of top competition horses have real bad conformation and looked after just perhaps might have a shorter working life. The continentals actually quite like sickle hocks at least the are heading in the right direction!

I will get a contract signed with everything listed on it including uses, will be pretty much what the owner uses it for just now.

Thanks x
