Puppy is just over 3 months old now. Managed to steal some grapes on the weekend, was very poorly, overnight stay at the vets. Came back happy as larry, we were sent home with panacur 3 day worming granules. On giving the granules, puppy has been sick repeatedly over the course of 24hrs, returned to vet yesterday to be given a different wormer (can't remember the brand but it's a large pill and stronger chemical) as vet is adamant he needs worming. Was planning on giving him new wormer this morning at breakfast, but he was sick again around 1am this morning, watery orange stuff.

He's on a mix of puppy meat, and bakers puppy biscuits, he has 3 small meals a day on vets advice. Could he still be feeling dicky bellied from the grapes? Grape ingestion was Saturday morning, spent that night at the vets and home again Sunday. Going to call in the vets again in a bit, but from what he's said yesterday he really wants puppy wormed. I'm not happy that he's being sick so often, yesterday was 4 times during the day and then @ 1am, so something is obviously not right. But he's completely happy and his usual self, other than the sickness. Any ideas/suggestions?

Discuss with the vet about a spot on wormer as tablets Wont be absorbed if he is vomiting. Make sure puppy has access to plenty of fresh water and keep an eye on his capillary refill on his gums and gum colour. I would seriously look at changing from bakers food. It is full of colours and to be honest not the best nutritionally. Check out www.whichdogfood.com all commercial foods are listed and their ingredients shown.
Good luck with puppy

Yes the puppy will need worming if its 3 months old. Panacur 3 day wormer unfortunately often makes them sick. It may be that your pup is still off colour from being ill so if it were me I would wait 48 hours. In that 48 hours i would get the pup off the feed you giving him, sorry to be blunt but its doing more harm than good, its full of utter crap. Put him onto small regular meals of cooked chicken or white fish for a couple of days to settle his tummy, even 4 - 5 small meals a day. It is very important you get the wormer into him so if all is well, Id keep him on that - (no biscuits or other treats) and get the wormer the vet gave you into him, either the panacur or the tablet which is suspect is probably Drontal? He may well have the runs and be off colour but better that than the damage a worm burden can cause. After he is all clear keep him settled on the chicken/fish for another day or 2 then gradually introduce a better quality puppy food. There are many to choose from, I feed all mine raw and you can get a complete raw puppy mix in a tub from both Nutriment and Natural Instinct. If you dont fancy that, over the years Ive fed Arden Grange Puppy - which isnt the best but its decent enough and waaaay better than Bakers eek. Others that spring to mind are Orijen and Applaws - both top quality.

Good luck with your puppy.

I use Arden grange, it gets a good rating for its price on the whichdogfood website (quoted by satin above) I found that my dogs didn't keep weight on with the orijen or burns. What you are feeding him really won't be helping his tummy and is a bit rubbish (sorry! But I didn't know any better until I researched and looked into it all) Arden grange puppy is about £40 for a large bag and will last a good 6 weeks depending on how big he is. My puppy has much better poos on it and less frequent than the food he came on from his breeder which was a less good quality dry food (CSJ or something like that) unless he's managed to get to the cat litter for a 'treat'!)
All the best with your puppy :)

If this was my puppy I would be concerned about worming him when he is still recovering from the affects of eating grapes. His system bless him has been comprimised and worming him so soon after the grape ingestion would further comprimise him. Personally I would have waited a week before worming him but would have discussed this with my vet.

As others have said the food you are feeding him is pretty rubbish, change to something more suitable but do it gradually as he still has a delicate tum. Is he vaccinated?

This, and change by our vet...
